The beginning of the year 2017 started dynamically for International Game Technology (IGT), with not one, not two, not three, but five partnership agreements and deal extensions. The leading gaming company announced the first one at the very beginning of the month – on January 4th, while the other four were revealed in period of just a couple of days.
The five contracts signed by IGT through its international subsidiaries come as a proof of the firm desire of the company to expand its reach on a global scale, reaching more companies, and hence, players.
Idaho Lottery Contract Extension
As mentioned above, on January 4th, IGT revealed that IGT Global Solutions Corporation, a subsidiary, has inked a two-year extension of its multi-year deal with Idaho Lottery. Under the terms of the agreement, the gaming company is to continue proving the Idaho Lottery with its Scratch Games printing services until March 2019. This is the second time when the company has extended the already existing contract, with the extension receiving the unanimous approval of the Idaho Lottery Commission at the middle of November 2016.
The partnership between the two parties has been beneficial for both IGT and Idaho Lottery. Up to date, the international gaming company provides more than 70% of Scratch Games’ printing services for Idaho Lottery.
Société De La Loterie Suisse Romande Deal Extension
On January 17th, IGT announced that it has reached a partnership agreement with Société De La Loterie Suisse Romande through its subsidiary IGT Global Services Limited. Under the terms of the deal, the company’s gaming services and solutions Aurora is to go live on the market of Switzerland.
The agreement comes as an extension of the 10-year partnership deal, which is to be in force until 2023. The two parties have been working in collaboration for more than two decades now, after IGT inherited the partnership as legacy from GTECH in 1994.
According to the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of IGT International Declan Harkin, the deal came as the next and most logical step in the partnership between the two companies, especially in the long term.
Loto-Québec Deal
At the same day, January 17th, IGT revealed another partnership agreement. This time, the company’s subsidiary IGT Global Solutions Corporation has reached sale deal, under which it is to offer its new lottery product vending machines called Gemini Touch in order to replace the instant ticket vending machines of Loto-Québec which are currently available.
IGT’s Senior Vice President of WLA North America Lottery Jay Gendron shared that thanks to the long-term collaboration with Loto-Québec, the new lottery machines of the brand would be available in the regulated market of Canada.
Loto-Québec has been supported by IGT since 1999, and the two companies are now expanding their relationship to a whole new level. The new machines are planned to be installed in a total of 100 locations across Quebec this summer.
Coljuegos EICE Five-Year Contract
International Game Technology continued with the partnership expansion on January 18th. The company revealed that it has signed another private operator contract for a five-year period through its affiliate IGT Juegos S.A.S. Under the terms of the deal, the international company is to run “Baloto”, a draw-based game, for Coljuegos EICE.
The contract comes to prove the success of IGT in operating Baloto on the territory of Colombia over more than a decade and a half. In addition, the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the International operations of the company Declan Harkin shared his opinion that the deal also proves what an expert IGT is in managing all types of lottery operations for governments on a global scale.
Svenska Spel Seven-Year Contract
Also on January 18th, IGT continued its march to an inspiring and profitable year thanks to another partnership agreement. The company’s subsidiary IGT Canada Solutions has inked a seven-year deal with Svenska Spel. The contract will provide the company with the chance to offer its video Lottery Terminals, operational services, website games and controllers as well as its VLT Central System in Sweden.
The contract also comes with a possibility for one-year extensions for up to three consecutive years, which makes its maximum term increase to ten years.
Over the last 20 years, the two companies have worked in collaboration, which turned out as a beneficial for both of them. The relationship with Svenska Spel came as part of the legacy of GTECH and dates back to 1996. over the years, IGT has proved itself as a reliable partner and has successfully supported and improved the approach that Svenska Spel has to its players, especially when it comes to customer safety and protection.
